At the beginning of the 2017 school year, Afrivac has launched an immunization sensitization campaign in Senegalese public schools. The campaign aims at raising awareness about the importance of vaccination among students in public schools. Parents and teachers were also educated in about the benefits and importance of complete childhood immunization. A brief presentation of the foundation (its mission, objectives, activities etc.) was made and later, issues related to immunization were discussed. In 2017, 335 schools, 3612 classes were visited and about 19000 students sensitized. Symbolic contribution were given by the students to help other children get access to primary health care. Posters, flyers, ballot box and advocacy letters encouraging all people to support the immunization were distributed in schools. In each school, kits were given to the school principal who was in charge of the distribution. The campaign is still ongoing and should be soon concluded. And the school which will have collected the most funds, will be repainted by our partner Seigneurie.
